What is the Cochrane Library?
Cochrane Clinical Responses (CCAs) provide an easily digestible, clinically focused entry point to rigorous research from Cochrane reviews. They are designed to be actionable and inform decision-making at the point of care. CCAs form a key strand of Cochrane’s knowledge translation strategy and provide concise, evidence-based answers to patient, intervention, comparison, outcome (PICO) clinical questions based on Cochrane reviews. This product was developed in partnership between Cochrane and Wiley and in 2018 became part of the collection of databases available to all Cochrane Library subscribers.
Each CCA contains a clinical question, a short answer, and data for results from the Cochrane review most relevant to healthcare professionals, our target audience. Evidence is presented in a user-friendly tabular format that includes narratives, data, and links to graphics.
Dr. Christopher Bonet, MD, FAAFP, Associate Dean for Student Affairs at the College of Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina, USA, holds the position of Editor Emeritus (EiC) of CCAs and oversees its development and oversight. Implementation of editorial policies for CCAs, guides editorial strategy decisions and ensures the quality of CCA content.
