Abstract: They are not a substitute for a product seller’s or user’s own judgment with respect to the particular product referenced in the Standard or guideline, and NEMA does not undertake to guarantee the performance of any individual manufacturer’s products by virtue of this Standard or guide. Thus, NEMA expressly disclaims any responsibility for damages arising from the use, application, or reliance by others on the information contained in these Standards or guidelines. This document was developed by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association’s Building Management System Section. Proper specification of a Building Management System (BMS) with other data-integrated building systems is important to assure that the end-user gets the building performance and user experience they expect. The MasterFormat was introduced in 1969 by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) as a common layout or index for design requirements or specifications of all aspects of building components to be used in the construction of a building.
