Emergency Disconnect Marking Guide

The presence of energized electrical circuits, devices, and appliances within one- and two-family dwellings impact the ability of fire service personnel to perform their duties quickly and safely. In the NEC, each of these cases has a designated marking to communicate to users the scope of the outside disconnect(s) function. This guide contains recommendations on the marking parameters and placement on products to provide consistent industry communication regarding the emergency disconnect to fire service or other emergency response personnel.
