Abstract: This standard provides definitions for a wide range of terms used in the design, manufacturing, and application of photographic lamps. It serves as a common reference for all ANSI lamp standards in the C78.1400 series, thus reducing the number of terms that need to be defined in individual standards. With strong input from the consumer or user side, this standard covers many terms in use by the laity.
Where appropriate, terms have been adopted from more primary sources; IEC Publication 50 (845), ANSI/IES RP-16.
