JUNCTIONS AND JUNCTION DEVICES, ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION AND BUSSING, SPECIFICATION FOR

Abstract: This specification establishes the criteria for an integrated system of electrical junctions and junction devices. The junctions and junction devices shall be the environment-resistant type and shall utilize removable crimp-type contracts.
Temperature. - Junctions and junction devices are rated for and shall be capable of continuous operation within the temperature range of minus 55 to plus 150 degrees Celsius (ºC) (minus 67 to plus 302 degrees Fahrenheit (ºF).
Accessories. This specification also covers accessories for the junctions and junction devices, to include such items as frames, spacers, mounting blocks and associated hardware used for mounting the junction modules, and the insertion-extraction tools and test probes used in operational activities associated with the application of the junctions and junction devices.
Classification. - Junctions, junction devices and accessories qualifying to this specification shall be of the types, sizes, and bussing arrangements defined both herein and in the detail specification sheets (refer to the appendices to this specification). Products covered under this specification shall be assigned MSFC part numbers in accordance with the detail specification sheets.
