JOINT TRAINING FOR U.S. PERSONNEL ASSIGNED TO NATO ORGANIZATIONS

Abstract: Purpose. To establish policy concerning the joint training of U.S. personnel assigned to North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) organizations and the NATO Defense College. Title 10 U.S.C., section 153 (a) states that the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS) is responsible for formulating policies for the joint training of the Armed Forces of the United States, and for formulating policies for coordinating the military education and training of members of the Armed Forces of the United States.
Applicability. This instruction applies to the Joint Staff; U.S. Representatives to the U.S. Delegation to the NATO Military Committee (USDELMC), U.S. National Military Representative (USNMR) to Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), and U.S. National Military Representative (USNLR) to Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (SACT); Services; National Defense University (NDU); U.S. personnel assigned to NATO organizations; and the U.S. European Command (USEUCOM) J-1 NATO Manning Division (ECJ1-N).
