Abstract: This specification covers High Friction Surface Treatments (HFST) for asphalt and concrete pavements.
The HFST is comprised of a minimum of a single layer using a binder resin system and surface-applied aggregate.
Binder resin systems include low modulus epoxies, methyl methacrylate (MMA), and polyester resins.
High friction surface applied aggregate is refractory grade calcined bauxite aggregate.
This standard may involve hazardous materials, operations and equipment.
This standard does not purport to address all the safety concerns associated with its use.
It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
